PokeSurvivor GitHub and Local Setup
The official source code is public. This page explains what is in the repository, how the license affects reuse, how to run it locally, and why a browser userscript is not the same thing as the game source.

Official repository
The developer’s repository is github.com/JPTER78/pokesurvivor. It contains the browser client, game data, sprites and documentation. The official live game remainspokesurvivor.com.
License and commercial use
The official site states that the code is under the PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 license, with versions up to 2026-10-14 under MIT. That means you can study and modify the project, but you should not assume commercial reuse is allowed. Read the repository’s current license file before republishing or monetizing a fork.
Run PokeSurvivor locally
The project is a static browser game. The short version is to clone the repository, serve the project directory with a local static server, and open the served page in a browser. Follow the repository README for the current commands and required files; do not assume an old tutorial still matches the latest update.
- Clone or download the repository from GitHub.
- Open the README and check the current local-run instructions.
- Serve the folder over HTTP rather than opening the HTML file directly.
- Check the browser console if sprites or data fail to load.
Data files and credits
The game data includes a Pokédex file, move definitions and starter data. Sprites come from SpriteCollab, Pokémon data from PokéAPI, and the project credits its music and sound sources. This site’s snapshot links back to the exact developer files on its data pages.
Report a bug
Use the issue tracker. Include the game version or commit, browser, device, steps to reproduce, expected result and actual result. Do not include passwords, private account data, or a save file with personal information.
Source code vs userscripts
The repository is the game itself. A userscript is injected into the game page by the player’s browser and can change display, automation or game state. A userscript is not an official plugin and may break after an update. See thecheats and scripts page for the risk categories.
Sources and method
Rules are checked against the official game guide. Numbers use a fixed snapshot of the developer’sPokémon data, move data andstarter list. Move names and evolution cards follow the official English catalog. Recommendations are our interpretation of those rules and numbers; they are not measured win rates. Later game updates may change them.
