PokeSurvivor Held Items: Effects, Drops and Best Choices

You can hold only one item at a time, so every pickup is a trade. This page lists all 11 held items, what they do, and which one to keep for damage, survival, speed or farming.

How held items work

Held items are found in chests and from bosses during a run. You can hold one at a time; when you find another, you choose which one to keep. The effect lasts for the rest of the run. Some items are for combat, while Amulet Coin and Lucky Egg are for the rewards at the end of a run.

The official items page lists 11 items and their base effects. Exact drop behavior can change between updates; the effects below were checked on .

Best item by goal

For more damage

Life Orb gives the largest straightforward damage increase, but the HP cost adds up in long fights.Choice Band is stronger when you are happy to stay on one move, because it prevents switching.

For surviving a crowded wave

Leftovers is the simplest sustain option. Assault Vest reduces incoming damage, andFocus Sash gives you one emergency save every 60 seconds. Shell Bell works best when you already deal enough damage to heal through the return fire.

For speed and repositioning

Choice Scarf increases movement speed, while Quick Claw reduces cooldowns. Pick the one that solves your actual problem: getting caught by the horde, or not casting often enough.

For farming coins or experience

Amulet Coin adds 50% PokéCoins at the end of a run and Lucky Egg adds 30% experience. Neither helps in combat, so use them when your build can already finish the run safely.

Which item should you keep?

Use this order before replacing an item:

  1. What is ending your runs: damage, crowd pressure, bosses, or rewards?
  2. Does the new item solve that problem without breaking your move?
  3. Can you still switch moves if you need to?
  4. Are you farming, or trying to clear a difficult rift?

For a build-by-build starting point, see the PokeSurvivor build guides. For the full partner ranking, use the 966-Pokémon tier list.

Item FAQ

Can I hold more than one item?

No. You choose one item to keep when you find another.

Do Amulet Coin and Lucky Egg help in combat?

No. They affect end-of-run rewards and experience, not damage or survival.

Does Life Orb cost HP on every attack?

The official effect says each attack costs a little HP. The cost is small per hit but meaningful over a long run.

Are item drops random?

Chests and bosses are the listed sources. The official page does not publish exact drop rates, so this guide does not invent them.

Rules are checked against the official game guide. Numbers use a fixed snapshot of the developer’sPokémon data, move data andstarter list. Move names and evolution cards follow the official English catalog. Recommendations are our interpretation of those rules and numbers; they are not measured win rates. Later game updates may change them.
